Rich has been a footbrake racer since1993. His hometrack is Atco Raceway. He has also raced at Engishtown, Cecil County and Maple Grove. He raced trophy class at Atco from 93-96 with at least 1 win a year. In 97 and 99 he ran street class at Atco with a stock 87 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe. In 99 he won first half of points and wound up second overall for the season which qualified him for the bracket finals. He lost 3rd round at US-13 that year. Since then he has built an 80 Cutlass for Heavy Eliminator. 2000 and 2001 were major learning experiences for him. He says " Heavy Eliminator at Atco is one tough class" 2002 was better after taking Bud McNasby's bracket racing class. On Oct. 27, 2002, he was runner-up at the $5000.00 Gambardella Race. His loss in that final was .001 on a double breakout. The following Tuesday he was runner-up in the gamblers race. He was 9th in points in the Gambardella Series and 11th in the Tuesday's Gamblers Series. Rich says, he can't wait for the 2003 season to begin.
